Luton Town FC Community Trust have just launched their Tackling Loneliness Together programme. This is a brand-new project from the English Football League Trust with the aim of bringing people together and helping individuals feel more connected. Loneliness is a major issue in the UK with a recent study showing that 7.4 million UK residents had felt their well-being had been affected through their having felt lonely in the past seven days.
As part of this project they will be providing various group activities, as well as individual support. They have a socially distanced group walk meeting in Stockwood Park on Thursday’s (meet at flagpole next to Discovery Centre entrance) and Wardown Park (meet at the bandstand) on Friday’s, both starting at 10am. The Community Trust would love to see you there. They will be looking to add further activities, both socially distanced and online. Please do let them know what you feel you would enjoy and benefit from. This could be anything from a group football chat to a computer skills or cookery class. Or perhaps you’d enjoy more individual support, in which case they could assist you with collecting and delivering your library books, set you up with a pen pal or simply check in with you over the phone.
If you, or someone you know would benefit from any support or activities as part of this project please do get in touch with Adam Would, Business Manager via email here or by phone on 01582 561622 for further information.
